This run is a product of a series of conversations between passionate runners of various abilities over 12-18 months in 2015-16. Our experiences with distance running across Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Leh-Ladakh have brought us to a stage in life where we were wondering - what next? How can we offer the next set of challenges and promote ultra-running within India. We have also been encouraged by coffee planters and adventure sports enthusiasts that have experienced the magic of the Western Ghats to host a run in this area. When Coffee Day Global invited us to organise this run within their coffee plantations, the Malnad Ultra evolved into this reality. The Malnad Ultra is unique because it 100% driven by volunteers.
